Robin Holt, M.A.

Background

Robin is one of the founding principals of the Bay Area Career Center. Previously, she was affiliated for 18 years with Alumnae Resources/lifeprint, where she served as both Director of Counseling and Director of Corporate Services. She also was a career consultant for Charles Schwab, Technology Division. She is a nationally recognized expert in the field of career change and advancement. She has spoken before business and community groups and has appeared on national radio and television.

Robin is the co author of The Everything Career Tests Book. She also has been interviewed by Gail Sheehy for her book Understanding Men’s Passages, and for numerous articles in publications such as FortuneThe Wall Street JournalGlamourCosmopolitanParenting, and The Los Angeles Times.

Areas of Expertise

She has worked with an enormous variety of clients in all settings, from college students to CEOs, and in the business, nonprofit, government, military, and educational sectors. She believes it is possible to have a meaningful and engaging work life, and she likes to help people identify issues that sometimes get in the way. She particularly enjoys coaching clients who are having conflicts at work or who feel stuck or unfulfilled.

Robin is an expert on the emotional and tactical issues of the job search. She believes in setting manageable weekly goals and is skilled at holding her clients accountable in a supportive way. A client once said she had “an iron fist in a velvet glove.”

 

Credentials

She has a B.A. degree in History from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.A. in Career Development from John F. Kennedy University, where she was recognized as the 1999 Alumna of the Year by the School of Management. She is certified by the California Registry for Professional Counselors and is a member of the California Association of Career Development and the Career Planning and Adult Development Network.
